A House of Jewels By: Chris Chandler

Every believer in Jesus Christ is a part of the most magnificent structure ever built...the house of God. Jesus is the foundation for this house which is continually being built up. This glorious structure will be massive and made of precious jewels.
The House Of God
The house of God is the church. The church is made up of all who have received Jesus as Lord. Peter said that we, the church, are like "living stones" being built into a "spiritual house." (1 Peter 2:5)
In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.
Ephesians 2:21-22 NIV
Jesus is in charge of the construction of His Father's house. He is joining and building us up together to become a holy temple of God. He is making the church to be a perfect dwelling place for the Spirit of God to abide.
The Foundation
To begin construction on any building, the first step is to lay a foundation. Jesus is the foundation of God's house.
"See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious Cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame."
Now to you who believe, this Stone is precious.1 Peter 2:6-7 NIV
The cornerstone of a building is the first stone that is laid during construction. It is the most essential element in stabilizing the entire
structure. Our Father chose Jesus to be the Cornerstone of His house. Jesus was not just any ordinary stone. God laid down a "chosen and precious Cornerstone". In other words, Jesus was God's most precious gem.
Creating The Jewels For God's House
The moment we are saved, we become a new creation in Christ Jesus. (2 Cor. 5:17) The Lord gave me an example of the dramatic change that occurs. He reminded me of an episode I saw as a child from the old television show, "Superman". In one scene, Superman took a lump of coal and crushed it. When he opened his hand, out came a perfectly cut diamond. In the same way, when we receive salvation, God picks us up and instantly transforms us into a precious stone!
As you come to Him, the living Stone-- rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him--you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5 NIV
When we come to Jesus, our spirit is transformed into the image of Christ. We become like precious stones, just as Jesus was the first precious Stone.
Purified By Fire
In these last days, God is purifying every believer for the great harvest. He is refining us by the fire of the Holy Ghost.
He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver...
Malachi 3:3 NIV
A refiner of silver or gold must sit and watch the metal as it heats to a certain temperature. If it gets too hot or too cold the metal will be ruined. As a refiner of His people, Jesus also watches over us as He dips us in the fire of His Spirit. (Matt. 3:11)
Jesus is coming for a church that is purified by the fire and without spot or blemish. (Ephesians 5:27) The apostle John was caught up into heaven and saw the glorious church. He said that before the throne "there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal". (Rev. 4:6)
God's House - The Glorious Church
Just like the walls of heaven are made with precious jewels, we are the precious jewels that make up the house of God. (Rev. 21:18-20) God told me that the jewels in the walls around heaven are so perfectly cut that even a single piece of paper could not fit between them. In fact, the stones fit together so
perfectly that each layer appears to be one continuous stone.
Just like these stones, the end-time church will be made perfect and will come together as one. It will be the answer to Jesus' prayer that the church will become one just as He and the Father are one. (John 17:21)
The Greatest Revelation in These Last Days
God's house is where His glory dwells. (Psalms 26:8) The greatest revelation for the church in these last days will be the realization that the glory of God is in us!
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27 NIV
God's light will be so intensely focused through us, the jewels of His house, that the entire world will see the glory, or the goodness, of the Lord. This will result in multitudes being swept into the Kingdom of God!
